About us

Joseph Denton came from the United States to Honduras in 2011 at the leading of the Lord and with a dream to serve the people, and especially the children, of Honduras. Joseph met his lovely wife Belkis also in 2011. Together they began a children’s outreach under a simple metal awning in a very poor, rural village an hour east of the capital of Tegucigalpa. From this humble start, they began to share the love of Jesus Christ with the local village children, providing a dynamic program for around 60 children over six years.

Around 2018 they transitioned their ministry to a village called Granadilla, partnering with a local family who were working with the local children but on a limited basis, and very meager resources. Joseph began to work with and help train and mentor them, and full meals began to be provided to the children. Soon other leaders were added and raised up. Now, there are numerous leaders and volunteers who reach over 200 children weekly in three different villages.

The vision is to continue to see more leaders who will multiply the vision in additional new locations throughout Honduras, Peru, Brazil and in other nations in Latin America, reaching a multitude more of children and youth. The dream is to continue to see these children encounter Jesus, both in their own lives and also their families and villages.

Tree of Life International is based and founded upon Revelation 22:2 “In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
